LISTEN: Mums concerned over maternity downgrades at Caithness General

Some mums-to-be are worried at having to be rushed to Inverness if there are complications.

Mums are voicing serious concerns about upcoming changes at Caithness General Hospital.

5 newborns have died there over the last 5 years and NHS Highland is preparing to make safety changes to its maternity services, forcing midwives to rely on specialists in Inverness.

It means mums-to-be who have complications during Labour could face a two-and-a-half hour journey in an ambulance.

Nicola Sinclair from the Caithness Health Action Team's telling MFR News about her concerns:

Campaigners will speak to health officials at a public meeting in Wick tonight.
