Moutain rescue teams are warning climbers not to slide on their bums after 2 men were hurt on Ben Nevis.

The pair sustained injuries to their head and hands on Red Burn at the weekend.

In a Facebook post, Lochaber Mountain Rescue said they had been climbing without ice picks and tried to slow their descend with their hands.

Their injuries were likened to a 'mince grinder'.

Rescue teams are calling on anyone setting out should be prepared for conditions and take extra care.
