An MFR listener’s coming to the aid of an Inverness pensioner who’s been conned out of his life savings.

The man, who doesn’t want to be named, is pledging half a week’s wages to get the elderly resident back on his feet after he was conned out of £7,000 by bogus workmen.

The listener got in touch after hearing the story on MFR NEWS this morning and is now urging other locals to help too:

A group of men were seen cold calling in the Fairfield Road area on Tuesday morning, when they targeted an elderly resident in his nineties.

Police say the men, believed to be in their twenties with Scottish accents, were last seen using a red van (registration SE03 ERY).
