New faces at the helm of Inverness pier project for River Ness
Members of the Inverness City Arts (ICArts) - responsible for the River Ness Art Project - have appointed its Vice Chair, Cllr Thomas Prag, and Provost Helen Carmichael, to jointly chair the Working Group.
It follows the resignation of its previous chair Ken Gowans earlier this month.
The public art installation - set to cost £750,000 - has been controversial at a time of massive cuts to Highland Council's budgets. The project was originally planned for Huntly Street, however objections meant a rethink, with five new options suggested.
The only viable option which went forward was to relocate the development for opposite Eden Court, nearer the cathederal and more importantly near the bus drop-off point.
