LISTEN: Inverness Campus Set To Open

Almost £100m has been invested in the facility which brings together education, business and education organisations.

The multi-million pound Inverness Campus is set to open today.

The 215 acre site brings together business and health research organisations, alongside the new college building.

Almost £100 million has been invested in the complex, which is hoped to become a hub for business, education and research.

Highland and Islands Enterprise has committed £25m to develop the site.

NHS Highland, the Highland Council and the Scottish Funding Council will also take on partnership roles.

  Alex Paterson, chief executive of HIE,said: "“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to create something unique for the region.  

"It is a long-term project which will have an increasing impact over many years.

"For instance, the educational opportunities and new jobs at the Campus will encourage young people to stay in, or relocate to, the area, while the links between education, industry and academia will boost local businesses and make the Campus an attractive inward investment location.”
