LISTEN: Iain Vigurs says bring on the banter at the Highland Derby

The former Staggies midfielder loves to be the one to stir-up the atmosphere between Ross County and Caley Thistle

There is a now infamous picture which brings a chuckle to Iain Vigurs as he recalls his days at Ross County.

Sadly, on the grounds of taste and decency, the two gentlemen on the right have been edited as they express their disapproval at Vigurs netting for the Staggies.

But nothing would give the midfielder more pleasure than to reverse the outcome and score for Inverness at Ross County - upsetting the League Cup party in Dingwall.

Here's what he had to say on that moment:-

However recent form suggests it will be Caley Thistle who will have to dig deep in Dingwall to overturn the odds, after defeats to St Johnstone, Hamilton and also Hibernian in the Scottish Cup.

"Everyone makes mistakes throughout the season, you can't avoid that. Unfortunately we've been getting punished for them, and it's been highlighted in recent games because we seem to be getting caught out and conceding"

"The Highland Derby is obviously a great way to rectify that and there's no better time following our poor run of results"

"A good performance, and some goals, and three points would be really good"

It is a point also made by ICT boss John Hughes, but Caley Thistle have been left chasing games, as seen by their cup exit at the hands of Hibs, during which Vigurs netted late on.

He said, "We can't be giving County a one-or-two goal headstart, we realise that we need to kick on, there's no point once the game's out of reach. We need to be at the races straight away"
