LISTEN: Gardyne highlights importance of County start to the season

After a strong showing in August-September 2015, can County give themselves the same platform in the new Premiership campaign?

Dundee are the visitors to Dingwall on Saturday as Ross County aim to banish any League Cup blues with a solid start to the new domestic season.

Last term the sides met three times, but racked up an impressive 20 goals, these were shared out equally in a 5-2 victory each (Dundee in April, County in December) after an opening encounter in September finished 3-3.

After the cup competitions, Michael Gardyne says County are eager for the return of Premiership football:-

The midfielder looks forward to challenging himself against the new-look Dundee, particularly Faissal El Bakhtaoui who's moved to Dens Park from Dunfermline.

"I think he's a great signing, obviously they've lost Kane Hemmings who was strong for them, but we played against El Bakhtoui last season (in the Scottish Cup) he played really well and he's one I definitely think can make the step up"

"I don't really know many of the Dundee boys, but obviously I've got a few friends there, they know we pipped them last season for top six and we aim for that this season"

"It'd be nice to notch one again this weekend and get off the mark, but obviously so long as we take the three points I don't care how we go about it"

"I think we saw last season how important it is to get a good start in your first five or six games, get some points on the board and set yourselves up, and that's definitely the aim for us"
