LISTEN: Foran happy with progress ahead of Dunfermline test

Matchday no.3 for ICT as they prepare for the Pars

Following Saturday's draw with Dundee United, Caley Thistle head to Dunfermline in the third of their Group C matches in the new format League Cup.

Aaron Doran continues to miss out, along with Josh Meekings, but there is one positive note in the ICT ranks as Owain Fon Williams returns after his two week summer holiday.

Manager Richie Foran said the shortened break for the Welshman hasn't had any ill effects:

"He trained really hard at the Euro 2016 and hasn't lost any sharpness. He's looking really good, but I've yet to pick my side so we'll just see how that goes"

"He had a wonderful experience being with the Wales squad, even though he didn't play, but hopefully he can also take that experience and share it with the younger players as well"

"I think it shows in the past, you're not ruled out when you come to Scottish football, we've proved it before with Billy McKay (Northern Ireland) and Owain Tudur Jones (Wales)"

With the new look League Cup, Caley Thistle - just like rivals Ross County - also lost on penalties following a draw.

ICT opened the scoring through summer signing Scott Boden in the first half, and Foran believes there is more effort required if they are to secure qualification:-
