LISTEN: Chaos as KLM flight lands with no passport staff at Dalcross

Passengers who flew into Dalcross from Amsterdam this morning were forced to stay in the airport... because no one was there to check their passports.

Unions call for Scottish Government intervention as "a matter of urgency"

Passengers at Inverness Airport were stopped from leaving because there was no one to check their passports.

They landed at Dalcross after flying the 10.25 KLM service from Amsterdam and then they were told they couldn't exit the airport until an official arrived. 59-year-old Bill Jenkins from Alness spoke to MFR News following the confusion:

"I was advised that there was no one from UK Customs to let the passengers through and into the UK. They are having to bring a customs official from Aberdeen which is going to take an hour and a half which is an absolute shambles"

"I was informed of this by the passenger I'd come to pick up who sent me a text. She said they couldn't disembark and the Inverness Airport information desk apologised. The said it was outwith their control and they also found it quite remarkable"
