LISTEN: Celts' schedule won't play into County hands

Chris Burke expects both Champions League and League Cup encounters to have little impact in Celtic's performance when they come calling to Dingwall for their match against Ross County.

Chris Burke believes that Ross County are making steps in the right direction, despite having not recorded win since August.

The weekend saw a 1-1 scoreline at Partick Thistle with Burke finishing well for County's stoppage time leveller.

"I think as the game progressed we looked the more threatening and the team more likely to get the three points, we were a bit unlucky at the death not to nick it if it weren't for a good save from their goalkeeper"

"If the game went on any longer we'd have won it, but if you're a goal down away from home, then you'd take a point in the end wouldn't you"

Despite County's winless run now stretching to seven matches, Burke feels they're showing promising signs - and it's about being persistent - as shown at Partick.

"It's not so much a frustration with our play, I think we just realise if we keep doing the right things, and play well for longer in the match"

"First half the manager wasn't happy - changed it - and it worked, we were much more threatening and we were rewarded with the chances we had"

But for any hopes Staggies fans might have of a weakened Celtic following their matches against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Rangers, Burke says County aren't banking on the Hoops turning in a half-hearted midweek performance.

"If you play for one of the Old Firm you should be able to play two games a week, you should be expected to put up with cup games and the travelling"

"The players will be getting the best of treatment so they're okay to face us, so we can't expect there'll be any comedown from their performance against Rangers"
