LISTEN: Campaign To Cut Motorbike Deaths On Scotland's Roads

Published 2nd Apr 2015

"Live Fast Die Old" That is what police chiefs are trying to tell middle aged bikers who're hitting the road this Easter weekend. This new safety campaign is aimed at hitting home how dangerous stretches across Scotland can be, especially left hand bends.

Road Safety Scotland and Police Scotland launched the Live Fast Die Old campaign today, which asks bikers to beware when negotiating so-called 'lefthanders'.

One in three motorbike deaths happen on left-bends.

The campaign is aimed primarily at male bikers aged between 40 and 49 years old as this age group make up 20% of all bikers in Scotland but account for 30% of bikers who are killed or seriously injured.
