LISTEN: Caley Thistle rout Ross County to take the sparkle from Staggies League Cup parade

Polworth, Draper and Storey silence the party in Dingwall

Ross County fans lined the streets of Dingwall in celebration of their League Cup success over Hibernian, but it is safe to say few of the Staggies faithful will want to remember this encounter with rivals Caley Thistle.

Just when it appeared as though County were taking control of this derby, with Jackson Irvine seeing an effort come off the post, Liam Polworth was fed through on the counter-attack by Miles Storey, with Polworth cooly netting his fifth goal of the season.

The blow just after the half-hour took the wind out of the Staggies sails, with County then 2-0 down on 37 minutes, as Ross Draper saw his shot go in off the post to leave the Dingwall-club with a mountain to climb.

Jim McIntyre made changes at the break, with Jackson Irvine - clattered by Iain Vigurs - coming off, along with Andrew Davies. On came Jonny Franks and Chris Robertson, but before fans had even settled in for the second half, Miley Storey netted with an exquisite dipping volley.

Caley Thistle were then left to play out the remainder of the game, comfortable at 3-0, but Polworth came close to a second goal with another attempt off the bar.

Despite the scoreline, thousands of fans stayed back to cheer on the Staggies postmatch as they paraded the League Cup trophy around the streets of Dingwall.
