Mark Dry, a former member of Elgin Amateur Athletics Club, has secured his place in the 80-strong team for the 2016 Rio Olympics

28-year-old Burghead hammer-thrower Mark Dry has secured his place in the 80-strong athletics team for the Rio Games.

At one stage, Mark had looked as if he would be locked in a selection battle with Englishman Nick Miller, and fellow Scot Chris Bennett, but having all thrown 76 metres - and all being ranked inside the top 25 in the world - all three are bound for Brazil.
