LISTEN: BT hope recruitment drive can help Highland connectivity
35 engineering positions sought across the Highlands & Islands to better serve the north of Scotland
BT have announced plans to recruit an additional 35 engineers in the Highlands and Islands, focusing on Fort Augustus, Fort William, Salen, Lochailort, Thurso and Bettyhill.
The new engineers will help Openreach, BT’s local network business, improve customer service by installing new lines and fixing faults more quickly.

BT is particularly keen to recruit more female engineers, having recently joined forces with other technology firms to create a new mentoring scheme – Step into STEM – which encourages schoolgirls to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers.
Openreach has also been employing a significant number of ex-service men and women - continuing the company’s long-standing relationship with the UK Armed Forces.
