Forest Enterprise and local mountain-bikers mark 10th anniversary of Black Isle trails

Published 26th May 2016

Learnie Red Rocks mountain bike trails are ten years old this year – and a special family day of free activities is being organised to mark the occasion.

Forest Enterprise Scotland (FES) and members of the Black Isle Mountain Bike Club are inviting riders - and non-riders - of all ages and levels of experience to come and check it out.

The celebratory event - Sunday 29th May (11am – 3pm) - will include opportunities to get some skills training and coaching, get practical advice on trailside bike maintenance and watch demonstrations of MTB skills.

Sandra Reid is recreation ranger for FES:-

Members of the Black Isle Mountain Bike Club will guide family groups of up to 8 people around some of the trails and there will be a competition at the skills area…with prizes for the slowest lap!

Free parking will be available on the day and anyone planning to bring their own bike must ensure that it is in a suitable condition for the trails – and helmets must be worn.
