Celtic face Premier League fight to sign Shamrock Rovers defender
Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley says Liam Scales is being tracked by clubs in England and Scotland
Celtic face a battle with Premier League clubs to sign Shamrock Rovers defender Liam Scales.
The 22-year has been linked with a move to Parkhead this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his backline.
Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley says Scales is available for their Europa Conference League clash in Albania on Thursday - but admits he is being tracked by a host of clubs.
Bradley said today: “I know there’s a lot of interest and there has been for quite some time.
“But right now Liam is fully focused on tomorrow and going forward until the sporting director and the board tell me otherwise that's the way it will be.
“But there’s a lot of serious interest from the English Premier League and Scotland. We've had a number of managers ring Stephen and myself regarding Liam.
"There have been bids put down.
“The board trusted our judgement in signing players on longer deals and that means you can take a stance when teams come in.”
The Parkhead side have already made two signings this week with experienced pair Joe Hart and James McCarthy coming through the door.
The Hoops are back in action on Thursday night in Europa League qualifying against Czech side Jablonec.
