Jim McIntyre Hails Ruthless Ross County After Falkirk Romp

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre felt his side showed a ruthless streak in a 7-0 trouncing of Falkirk in the third round of the Scottish League Cup.

A first-half hat-trick from Liam Boyce, scored in a 10-minute spell, set up the rout before Raffael De Vita, Jonathan Franks, Brian Graham and substitute Darren Holden all chipped in with goals as County ran riot in the second half.

McIntyre said: It was a fantastic performance. I thought we were at it from the first minute. We put Falkirk under pressure, which we knew we had to as they had good players in their side.

It was important we imposed ourselves. We got the goals at the right times and showed a real ruthlessness.

There were some fabulous crosses into the box and some good team goals.'' Falkirk boss, Peter Houston admitted he was embarrassed by the scoreline.

The curious thing tonight was there were seven crosses into the box and seven goals,'' he said.

They had more hunger, more desire. I don't want to take anything away from County, who were very good.

But that was the first competitive match we've lost this season. We are second in the Championship.''

He added: We thought coming up here tonight there was an outside chance we could do well. But we got absolutely embarrassed.

I can only apologise to the supporters who did come up because they have every right to give us the stick they did.''
