Investigations into sudden death of teenage boy in Inverness

Emergency services were alerted just before 8 o'clock on Thursday morning

A 17-year-old boy's died after becoming unwell at a property in Inverness.

Police say emergency services were alerted around 7.55am on Thursday July 21st after the teen - named as Bailey Matheson Munro - took unwell within a property in MacLennan Crescent, Inverness.

Sadly, Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination is to take place to establish the cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are continuing and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Detective Constable Gary Hines said: "Our thoughts remain with Bailey's family at this very difficult time.

"They have asked that they be given privacy and I would ask that their wishes are respected."
