Investigation ongoing into 'wilful' Inverness fire
Emergency services were called out to Wyvis Place last night
A fire which broke out in Inverness is being treated as "wilful" as an investigation is launched.
Emergency services were called out to Wyvis Place in the Merkinch area last night at around 7pm.
Three fire crews were sent out to extinguish the blaze and police also attended the incident.
No one was injured and Police Scotland say enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Monday, 24 February, 2025, we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Wyvis Place, Inverness.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. No one was injured.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 6.45pm on Monday, 24 February, to reports of a dwelling fire on Wyvis Place, Inverness.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene where firefighters extinguished the fire affecting a mid-terrace property.
"There were no casualties and crews left the scene at 9pm after ensuring the area was safe."
