Investigation ongoing after 'serious attack' on man in Inverness
The 50-year-old was taken to Raigmore Hospital following last night's incident.
A police probe has been launched as a 'serous assault' in Inverness has left a man in hospital.
Emergency services were called out to Tomnahurich Street last night at around 10:15pm, after receiving reports of a 50-year-old being seriously injured.
He was taken to Raigmore for treatment and police say extensive enquiries are ongoing.
Officers are looking to speak to people who may have witnessed the incident or who have relevant video footage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for information following the serious assault of a man in Inverness.
"Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 13 February, 2025, we received a report of a 50-year-old man seriously injured on Tomnahurich Street, Inverness.
"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. "
Detective Inspector Calum Reid added: “A dedicated team of officers are working on this and I would like to reassure the community that we are doing everything we can to trace whoever is responsible.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing including reviewing CCTV and going door to door.
"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the assault and have not already spoken to police to contact us.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around the time of the incident.
“Officers will remain in the area while enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information, or any concerns, can speak to them.”
