Inverness manager John Hughes has dismissed Hibernian's three-match losing streak as irrelevant ahead of their William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-final at Easter Road.

Hibs have seen their Championship title hopes crumble following consecutive losses against Morton, Dumbarton and Queen of the South.

But they still have a cup double to pursue with their League Cup final against Ross County coming up seven days after the visit of Caley Thistle.

Hughes feels there will be pressure on Hibs from a home support desperate to see them end a 114-year wait for Scottish Cup glory, but believes their league defeats will have no bearing on the last-eight clash.

I don't think that has got any significance to what happens on Sunday,'' the former Hibs player and manager said. It's a one-off, a cup tie.

It will be a good atmosphere. It's a fantastic venue to play your football and that's what we have to do. We have to be inspired by the venue.

All the support is going to be for Hibs, so that puts a little bit of pressure on them, their history in the Scottish Cup puts a bit of pressure on them, and expectations from the supporters puts a little bit of pressure on them.

In terms of us, our pressure is we are the holders of the Scottish Cup.

I think the two teams are evenly matched and it will be a bit of genius that probably wins the game.''
