A popular Inverness bar are closed as a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

Johnny Foxes and The Den say the employee hasn’t been in the bar since earlier this week.

They’re currently deep cleaning the entire premises and awaiting contact from Track and Trace.

In a statement on Facebook they said protecting customers and staff is their "number one priority."

It said: "As a purely precautionary measure, we have taken the difficult decision to close Johnny Foxes and The Den.

"We were made aware late this morning that a member of our team has today tested positive for COVID-19.

"This person has not been on the premises since early in the week, and as many of you will know, we have some the industry's most robust precautionary measures in place since the very start of the pandemic to protect everyone.

"However, protecting our customers and staff has been and remains our number one priority.

"We are currently carrying out a deep clean of the entire premises and awaiting contact with the Track and Trace team.

"We will open again as soon as it is 100% safe to do so.

"In the meantime, we are grateful for your understanding and support.

"Please check in regularly for news."

They also said anyone with a booking will be contacted shortly and are working with all the relevant authorities.
