Inverness bar hit by fire
One person has been taken to hospital with serious burns after a fire at a bar in Inverness.
Fire crews were called to the Hootananny venue in Church Street at around 5.20pm after receiving reports of a fire and an expolision.
Three appliances went to the scene, a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said.
A Fire Service spokesman said: "The fire had been extinguished by staff using fire extinguishers prior to SFRS arrival and one man was suffering from serious burns.
"Crews carried out a thorough search of the three-storey premises and ensured everyone was accounted for. The casualty was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
"The ground floor was heavily smoke logged and fire crews ventilated the premises. The ground floor was 50% smoke damaged. Crews also used thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service were also in attendance."
