Inverness manager John Robertson has been granted compassionate leave following a family bereavement.
ICT say a temporary boss will be drafted in to help the coaching staff while Robertson is away from the dugout.
The club also confirmed assistant manager Scott Kellacher is off work for the foreseeable future, as he recovers from a serious illness.
Former players Barry Wilson and Ryan Esson will take charge until a caretaker role has been filled as ex Caley Jag Charlie Christie will also help with coaching.
Caley Thistle Chief Executive Scot Gardiner said the decision is "the right thing to do", but the situation puts a "colossal amount of pressure" onto the club.
He said: "In all my years in football I thought I had dealt with just about everything you could ever imagine, but I've never had a situation where a manager and an assistant manager have both been off for differing reasons at the same time.
"Both of the men will be back, but at the moment we don't have a manager or assistant manager.
"Over the coming days, I'm probably going to look for someone to help us.
"They need to get past some stuff at the moment which has been traumatic for them.
"Traumatic for both of them equally because they're both so close together and they don't like to see one another suffering in any way."
