Hughes named April manager of the month
The Caley Thistle boss collects the Premiership accolade for April
Caley Thistle boss John Hughes is the Ladbrokes SPFL Premiership manager of the month for April after collecting nine points from their five games during the month.
Despite a setback with their 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell, there followed a 2-0 win at Dundee United and a goal-less draw against Hearts, leaving Hughes' side unfortunate to miss out on a top six place.
Caley Thistle then went on to comfortably defeat Kilmarnock 3-1, coming from a goal down, before a comprehensive 4-1 hammering of Partick Thistle at Firhill.
The accolade marks the fifth top flight managerial award in John Hughes' career, having won in the past with Falkirk and Hibs in the SPL.
Hughes last took a monthly award with Inverness in January 2015 during the successful campaign which saw ICT lift the Scottish Cup.
