Highland Council forced to shut primary following norovirus outbreak

Highland Council is dealing with an outbreak of suspected norovirus at a primary school near Inverness.

47 pupils and three staff have been affected at Ardersier Primary and Nursery.

The suspected outbreak of Norovirus means a deep clean for the school, with Highland Council shutting the facility tomorrow and Friday (24th and 25th of August) to allow pupils and staff time to recover.

Symptoms usually involve nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and watery diarrhea.

Any parents concerned about their child's safety have been advised by the Local Authority to seek advice from their GP
