Highland Council Chief Exec to stand down

Highland Council's Chief Executive is standing down from her role.

Donna Manson has held the position since 2018 and has now accepted the post of Chief Executive for Devon County Council.

She will be leaving Highland Council in February.

During her time as Chief Executive, she led the local authority through Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Highland Council's website, the Chief Executive's annual salary for 2021/2022 is £159,499.

Leading Highland Councillors have thanked her for her efforts.

Convener Bill Lobban said: "Donna has done a tremendous job for The Highland Council in the most difficult and challenging of circumstances and I personally wish her well in taking up her new position with Devon County Council."

Leader Raymond Bremner said: "Donna has been key to Highland Council delivering many successful outcomes and achievements during her time with us and I’d like to wish her all the very best in her new post with Devon County Council."
