Highland care worker struck off after sexual misconduct

Panel finds Black Isle worker deliberately abused Muir of Ord victim

A Highland care worker's been struck off by the industry's watchdog after "sexual behaviour" with a young disabled person.

David Cunningham worked on the Black Isle at a unit for young adults with learning difficulties.

He was accused of touching a resident at the Nansen Highland residential home at Muir of Ord.

A hearing into the alleged February 2015 misconduct found Cunningham deliberately "abused" his victim who now suffers "continuing distress" and fears meeting him again.

At the time police were called in to investigate but there was insufficient evidence to bring a criminal prosecution against him.

A panel of the Scottish Social Services Council said Cunningham would be removed from the register of practioners.
