Hearts have been promoted back into the Scottish Premiership, after being named Championship winners on Saturday.

Dundee and Raith Rovers dropped points to secure the Tynecastle side's progression to the top flight.

Hearts beat Alloa 6-0 on Friday night.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “As Hearts are confirmed winners of the Scottish Championship, I would like to warmly congratulate the club’s players, management team and directors on their achievement.

“It’s a fantastic accomplishment and they are undoubtedly deserving champions.

“While Hearts have now sealed promotion, there remains plenty to play for in the division with play-off spots still very much up for grabs and, of course, relegation still to be decided.

“Only 11 points separate second and ninth position in the table so we can look forward to an exciting conclusion to the season.”
