Goalkeeper injury hampers County hopes

Scott Fox awaits news on knee problem

Ross County's Scott Fox - a stand-out in their 3-1 League Cup semi-final victory over Celtic - is likely to miss out on their Hampden showpiece against Hibs.

Medial ligament damage is set to put the goalkeeper on the sidelines for around 4 weeks.

"We need to wait until he gets it scanned, but I can't give a timescale as yet" explained manager Jim McIntyre.

"He's had some outstanding performances this season, but unfortunately he's had two injuries and both have been quite severe"

Fox in October 2015 damaged ankle ligaments in the 2-1 Highland Derby defeat. Gary Woods deputised with the on-loan Leyton Orient stopper making nine appearances in Fox's place. Woods also came in for the Scottish Cup match against Linlithgow Rose.

It's understood County boss McIntyre hasn't ruled out making a move for another loan 'keeper to tide him through this time, having already had James Severn on loan at the club during Fox's earlier injury.

This weeks match is at Kilmarnock, as the Ross County manager hopes to see a reaction to Saturday's 3-0 loss at home to Dundee United:-
