Ski lessons and bookings have been cancelled at Glencoe Mountain Resort after a fire ripped through its Base Station Building.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Christmas Day at around 4:40am and sent eight appliances.

They used six breathing apparatuses and three hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

The resort’s posted on Facebook saying despite efforts most of the building has been completely destroyed.

They added that the centre will be closed on Boxing Day to the public to make sure the structure is safe.

Consequently, all lessons and accommodation bookings have been cancelled as the lodges have no power.

They’re hoping to re-open on Friday 27th December.
