Girl seriously injured in road accident

A 19-month-old girl has been seriously injured in a road accident.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the Smithton area of Inverness at 4.39pm yesterday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: ‘as a result of the collision a 19-month-old girl was conveyed by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, with serious injuries.'
