Police are making a re-appeal for information about a crash which claimed the life of a John o'Groats man.

34-year-old Timothy Humphreys died after he was hit by a car on the A836 near the Seaview Hotel.

The collision happened in the Caithness village at around 11.40pm on Friday March 17.

Now, officers are asking for anyone who may have seen him beforehand to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: "Very sadly, Timothy Humphreys, aged 34, was struck by a car and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

"The road was closed until Saturday morning to allow a full collision investigation to take place.

"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone Mr Humphries on or near the A836 between the A99 junction and Newton in the hour leading up to the collision."
