Emergency services are at the scene of a four vehicle collision near Aviemore.
The accident on the A9 happened around one mile north of the Granish junction, between Aviemore and Carrbridge.
It's not known if there are any casualties and drivers are being advised to find an alternative route.
The road has been closed since around 1.30pm.
Euan Smillie, who is at the scene, told MFR: "A police officer just told us it'll be closed for at least 2 more hours. The air ambulance just left with one casualty on a stretcher."
A diversion has been setup via Dulnain Bridge, but it is not suitable for HGVs due to a low bridge just north of Carrbridge.
