Forres toddler suffers Easter egging

The police are investigating after a toddler who was playing in his garden in Forres was attacked with a hard boiled egg.

It was thrown at the 16-month-old by a man who entered the garden near the Califer and Culbin road areas over Easter.

The bairn, who was knocked to the ground, and his mum were left "shaken and very upset" but luckily no one was injured.

Local investigating officer, Constable David Baird told MFR News: "This is a particularly despicable incident where a person has thrown an object which has struck a defenceless young toddler. Thankfully the child wasn't injured as a result however he and his Mum were left shaken and very upset by the incident.

"I would like to appeal to the public to think back to Easter Sunday and try to remember if they noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the Califer and Culbin road areas at this time.

"This is a particularly despicable incident where a person has thrown an object which has struck a defenceless young toddler" Constable David Baird

"I would also like to stress that this is an extremely serious matter and I would urge anyone who knows anything about this incident to get in touch with police. The assault of a baby is completely unacceptable and rest assured we will take every measure open to us to find whoever is responsible for this.

"A tall male described as approximately six foot four inches in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans and black trainers with distinctive blue eyes may have vital information that could assist us with this enquiry.

"I would be very keen to speak to this man or to anyone who recognises the description of has any information on this incident."
