Kevin Enticknap also made a string of voyeur videos of women and children using the toilet to satisfy his "fetish" for watching people using the bathroom.
Vile Enticknap was only snared when police received a tip-off that he had been downloading indecent images of children.
They raided his home and found his stash on the computer - as well as a series of home-made files depicting people in the bathroom of his home.
Officers also found Enticknap - a bar manager - had modified two shower gel containers and a washbag to conceal the cameras.
Enticknap had even drilled holes in the walls of the bathroom and his bedroom and run cables between them to facilitate his fetish.
A probe revealed a total of seven people had fallen victim to his hidden camera plot.
Dundee Sheriff Court was told they had been left "sick and totally violated", "horrible" and "completely shocked" by the horrific crime.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson told the court that an investigation found Enticknap had spycam software on his mobile phone that allowed it to be used as a "motion triggered video recorder" that switched on when people came in to his bathroom.
She said "Police attended at his address on February 12 and explained the search warrant to him.
"He was nervous and sweating and said he had downloaded indecent images.
"A search was undertaken and a preview computer examination found indecent images and videos of children.
"Also found were a number of videos of numerous females using the bathroom.
"They immediately identified the bathroom in the footage as being the bathroom of the locus.
"A further search warrant was obtained and they recovered two shower gel containers and a washbag that had been adapted so that a camera could be placed inside.
"A small hole had been drilled between the toilet and sink leading through to the bedroom.
"There was a corresponding hole in the bedroom behind the bed with black wire protruding from it.
"The accused later told police he 'had a fetish' for watching women urinate.
"A total of 249 indecent images and 75 indecent videos of children were found across his devices.
"Photos and videos of women using the toilet and shower were also recovered.
"Six photos were found which show a young girl, thought to age around 10 at the time, in the bathroom.
"They show her exposing her genitals with the accused pulling her leggings down and kissing her on the buttocks.
"He initially claimed he had been 'blowing raspberries' on her body but admitted he had 'taken it too far'."
Enticknap, 42, of Forres, Morayshire, pleaded guilty on indictment to one charge of taking or making indecent photographs of children, one of sexual assault, and seven further offences under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act.
Larry Flynn, defending, said: "He exaplined it was a classic risk-taking exercise.
"His behaviour was clearly out of control.
"It is a complete breach of trust."
Sheriff Elizabeth Munro jailed Enticknap for four years, imposed a two-year extended sentence that will monitor him upon his release from jail, and placed him on the sex offender's register indefinitely.
He said: "A custodial sentence is inevitable.
"I really have to take a very serious view of this course of conduct."
