Fisherman Dies After River Spey Fall

The 68 year old died after being airlifted from the scene near Knockando yesterday evening.

A man has died after falling into the River Spey.

The 68 year old was out fishing in a boat near Knockando yesterday.

Police were called to the scene after he was reported missing around 5:40pm.

Coastguard helicopter was involved in searching along the river.

He was located and airlifted to Raigmore Hospital for treatment, but died a short time later.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, but it's not thought to be suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
