Firefighters spent more than 20 hours tackling a major wildfire in the Highlands.

They were called to the blaze between Torbreck and Essich at 5.10pm on Sunday, with crews remaining on the scene well into Monday.

The grass fire caused travel disruption too, with the B861 between Inverness and Balnafoich closed while emergency services tended to the flames.

A fire service spokesperson told us no properties are thought to have been caught up in the blaze.

The service confirmed crews had fully entinguished the blaze shortly before 1pm on Monday.
