Gleneagles Hotel evacuated after small fire
The blaze, which was put out by fire crews, was discovered on the second floor of the luxury hotel just after 4pm
Guests at the luxury Gleneagles hotel were evacuated earlier after a fire at the 5-star resort. Crews were called to the property just after 4pm after the alarm was raised.
People staying at the resort took to social media to commend the staff after they were brought blankets and drinks while they waited on emergency services.
The small fire, on the second floor of the five storey property, was brought under control and no-one was injured.
Later the hotel praised the quick response of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesman for SFRS said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 4.10pm on Monday, December 31 to reports of a fire at Gleneagles Hotel, near Auchterarder.
"Operations Control mobilised four fire engines to the scene, where crews extinguished a small fire within the second floor of a five-storey building.
"There were no casualties, and the building was fully evacuated.
"Crews remain at the scene.''
