Producers of the new Mary Queen of Scots biopic are looking for locals to appear as extras in the film.

The movie – named after the 16th Century monarch – has been written by House Of Cards creator Beau Willimon, with two-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan in the lead role.

The multi-million pound production will also star Margot Robbie – best known for roles in hit movies such as The Wolf Of Wall Street, The Big Short and Suicide Squad - and Line of Duty's Martin Compston.

Filming is due to take place across Scotland with a number of scenes being shot in the Highlands.

Casting director Alex Pickford, who is conducting the search for extras, appeared on MFR with Ginno & Grace to explain more about the movie and who the producers are looking for.
