Over-stretched ambulance crews in Moray are expected to get more resources, MFR News can exclusively reveal.

Earlier we broke the news that an announcement's due within weeks, as 999-staff wait to hear whether Elgin will get an additional ambulance and crew.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been under increasing pressure ever since, including from Moray's MSP Richard Lochhead.

This was an exchange at Holyrood around two months ago when the First Minister was questioned about the situation...

It's understood that officials are currently 'working on a press release' to make an announcement which insiders hope will move towards a solution to ongoing issues in the area.
