A family reported missing from Fraserburgh last week have officially been traced safe and well in Portugal - but say they've been made to feel like criminals, when all they wanted was a few days away.

Concerns for Mark Hendry and Daniela Do Vale Goncalves, along with their two children, were raised by a Police Scotland partner agency on Wednesday 4th April 2018

A missing person's enquiry was raised as a result.

Daniela had taken to social media to report that the family were safe.

Sergeant Martin MacDougall said: "As highlighted in our earlier appeals for information, whilst social media and the media can be extremely useful in tracing missing people we have to be completely satisfied of the welfare of all those reported before we stand down our investigations, in particular when young children are involved.

"In the case of any missing person our ultimate aim is to ensure that those who have been reported missing have come to no harm when genuine concerns are raised.

"With assistance from international counterparts we can confirm this has now been done."

Daniela says they've been sleeping in the airport - and claims they've been left in limbo about when they'll get home. That's after they were held by authorities in the terminal for investigations.
