England Euro 2016 provisional team announced

It’s been the biggest question on football fans' lips and now the England Manager, Roy Hodgson, has finally named his official provisional squad to take the European Championship’s in France this summer.

The 26-man squad is made up of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, eleven midfielderds and five strikers, including a surprise call up for Manchester United youngster, Marcus Rashford.

The official squad was announced on Twitter.

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart Fraser Forster Tom Heaton

Defenders: Ryan Bertrand Gary Cahill Nathanial Clyne Danny Rose Chris Smalling John Stones Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Deli Alli Ross Barkley Fabian Delph Eric Dier Danny Drinkwater Jordan Henderson Adam Lallana James Milner Andros Townsend Raheem Sterling Jack Wilshire

Strikers: Harry Kane Jamie Vardy Wayne Rooney Daniel Strurridge Marcus Rashford

Obvious absentees from the squad are Everton defender Phill Jagielka and Arsenal winger Theo Walcott.

Surprisingly, in form Sunderland striker Jermaine Defoe also misses out on a place in the squad with 18-year-old Marcus Rashford being called up despite having zero caps.

Roy Hodgson will use England’s three friendly games to assess the squad before making a final decision on the team.

The tournament is set to kick off in France on July 10th with England’s first group game against Russia on June 11th.
