Eight fire crews are currently battling a blaze affecting two homes in Keith.

The alarm was raised at around 9.10am on Monday and eight fire appliances were dispatched to Regent Street.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed no injuries have been reported.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.11am on Monday, 19 August to reports of a fire affecting two residential properties on Regent Street in Keith, Moray.

"Operations Control immediately mobilised eight fire appliances to the scene.

"There are no casualties, and crews remain in attendance."

A96 closed in both directions at Keith

The A96 has been closed as a result of the incident, with Police urging motorists to seek and alternative route.

Cars are being asked to travel through Seafield Avenue or Station road, with HGVs urged to use the B9014 and the B9115.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A96 road is closed in Keith due to a house fire.

"There are no reported injuries.

"Avoid the area and motorists should use an alternative route.

"Cars should use Seafield Avenue/Station Road. Lorries should use the B9014 from Regent Square to Drummuir and the B9115 to the A96."
