Easter Ross family issue plea as donor match for toddler is gone
Adeline Davidson, 3, desperately needs a bone marrow transplant
The Highland family of a girl with a rare blood disease are searching for a bone marrow donor as a previous match is no longer available.
Adeline Davidson, from Alness, was due to receive a life saving bone marrow transplant this year.
However due to the pandemic, the procedure was delayed and now the three-year-old's family has received news a donor match is no longer available.
Adeline's mum Steph says she is "heartbroken."
She said: "After almost two years of waiting for Adeline's life saving treatment, to be told there's no longer any matches on the register is absolutely devastating.
"It wasn't the call I was expecting. When I answered I thought we would be getting a date for transplant, obviously it was the complete opposite.
"I can't go too far into it because of confidential reasons, but I think Covid's played a huge part."
Adeline suffers from myelodysplasia, which affects one in 250,000 children.
She needs weekly blood transfusions to help keep her alive.
Her family are now asking the public to become bone marrow donors.
Steph added: "It is our only chance, Adeline does need this transplant to live any sort of life and it is our last hope that we our going to find this person.
"Just help us find that one person in the big wide world."
