Olympic gold medal winner Duncan Scott hungry for more success
Scottish Swimming performance chief hails 24 year old
Scottish Swimming Performance Director Ally Whike's hailing Duncan Scott's gold medal at Tokyo 2020.
Scott helped Britain win the 4 by 200 metres freestyle relay to add to his earlier silver medal.
Whike said : "I think it's a fantastic achievement for Duncan but it's also a fantastic achievement for his team mates. It's great recognition for the work that goes on within his home programme at Stirling University, the work he does with his coach and the support he's had from his family as well."
It's been a great success for the 24 year old, but Whike agrees that something of this magnitude is many years in the making.
"Journeys like that don't take 5 minutes. That's another step in his career but he's been training now for 15, 16, 17 years - since he started swimming."
"Absolutely he can get better. Duncan's always looking for ways to improve and certainly he will be happy with his achievements this week so far however he'll always want time to reflect and then look at what his next objectives are going to be. He's 1 of a handful of Scottish swimmers who'll have won medals at every major championship but he'll always have his eye on what's coming next - Birmingham's next year, World Championships are next year then he'll maybe be looking forward to Paris as well".
