A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to install life-saving equipment in Dingwall town centre.

The effort aims to raise cash for 2 public defibrillators.

Fundraisers have set a target of £1,500 to buy the medical devices.

Organisers say the scheme could be rolled out to other areas if successful.

Campaigner Andrew Smith said "The intial project is set up to fund 2 defibrillators in Dingwall.

"We're hoping to exceed our target, which would allow us to expand the scheme to Maryburgh and Conon Bridge.

"This is in partnership with Lucky To Be Here Ross-shire, who provide training on the equipment for free.

"It's all about the chain of survival, and if you can add early defibrillation ahead of the ambulance service arriving, then you improve someone's prospects of survival considerably."
