Claims victims of crime are being "forgotten" by Scottish Government
There are urgent calls for a group representing them to reconvene.
There are fears crime victims are being "forgotten" by the Scottish Government.
The Victims Taskforce which offers support and advice hasn't met since March.
Scottish Conservative Shadow Justice Secretary Jamie Greene MSP, said: “The failure to reconvene this taskforce shows that victims are clearly an afterthought for the SNP.
“Keith Brown has been in post as Justice Secretary for almost five months."
However, the Scottish Government is insisting the group's next meeting is scheduled for the end of November.
Jamie added: "The group has now not met for over seven months.
"That simply isn’t good enough.
“Victims need their voice to be heard at every opportunity, but are being met with a wall of silence from the heart of the SNP Government."
A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “Since the election, work has continued on key Taskforce initiatives such as the Victim Centred Approach work stream.
"We are also funding NHS Education Scotland to develop a new framework so staff across the justice system engage with victims in a trauma-informed manner.
“The Taskforce is a vital part of our overall commitment to improving victim’s experience of justice.
"We want people to feel safer and better informed which is why we have just announced a new fund to support victims worth £30 million over the next three years."
