Crash between car and lorry closes A9 near Dalmagarry

A serious collision between a car and a lorry has closed the A9 near Dalmagarry.

Emergency services rushed to the scene this morning, after being alerted to the incident at around 6am.

No official statement has been issued yet on whether there have been any injuries.

Police say the road is likely to be closed for some time and diversions are in place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.05am on Friday, 26 May, 2023 we received a report of crash involving a car and a lorry on the A9 near Dalmagarry.

"Emergency services are in attendance and a number of road closures are in place.

"The public are advised to avoid the area and use alternative route."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.09am on Friday, 26 May to reports of a road traffic collision on the A9 near Tomatin.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters are still in attendance."
