How does the idea of renaming Cowdenbeath's home ground Central Park after Brazilian Legend Pele sound?

Gianni Infantino, the President of FIFA, has suggested every nation should name a football ground after the three time World Cup winner, following his death last month.

Well a Fife Councillor believes the right place in Scotland is Cowdenbeath.

After-all the Lowland League side are nicknamed the 'Blue Brazil'.

Councillor Darren Watt, who represents the town, told us:

"Although the origins are largely unknown, Cowdenbeath have affectionally been known as the blue Brazil for some time.

"What a fitting tribute it would be to call Central Park 'The Pele'.

Cllr Darren Watt

"Cowdenbeath as a town and as a club has a rich history - to recognise Pele at the home of the Blue Brazil wouldn't be out of place.

"We've already a stadium named after Arnold Schwarzenegger in Austria, we've got the Tony Macaroni Area in Livingston.

"So having a ground called 'The Pele' in Cowdenbeath wouldn't actually be so strange, and will rightly put Cowdenbeath in the hearts and minds of people throughout the world."

So what do you think? Should Cowdenbeath rename their home ground in honour of one of the greatest ever?
